We really hope the chronicle of a death foretold about newspapers' inevitable demise never comes to pass. If it did, we wouldn't get weird, little newsprint gems like the one in last Sunday's New York Times.

The editors of the Times, dictators of style and substance, clearly recognize extreme appeal when they see it: Hence why they published a long, detailed article about "Young and the Restless" mogul Victor Newman and the actor that has played him for the past 28 years, Eric Braeden. It's a very thorough article, with lots of interesting tidbits like this:

"Mr. Braeden was born into harsh circumstances in Nazi Germany. Named Hans Gudegast, he was one of four sons of the mayor of Bredenbek, a hamlet near the port city of Kiel. At the end of World War II his father, a onetime Nazi Party member, was imprisoned by the British for a year. "He died when I was 12," Mr. Braeden said. "To support my brothers and me, my mother got a job so menial that we never discussed it.""

The show has honestly been really boring this month to me...too much crap with Gloria and her brood.

But I have loved Katherine and Murphy. I hope they ask the actor that plays Murphy to stay once Kay gets her memory back.

So is Katherine really Katherine or is it Marg?? I caught the show on Friday and saw that Amber and Daniel were quizzing Katherine on things that she should remember but doesn't of course. The storyline seems kind of silly..There is such thing as DNA tests people..
