Michael Waltrip Racing has hired Pat Tryson as the crew chief for Martin Truex Jr. next season.

Tryson will leave Kurt Busch's team at the end of this season. He has been with Busch at Penske Racing since 2007 and guided him to four wins and two berths in the Chase for the championship. Busch will start the Chase this weekend seventh in the standings.

Tryson will be just the second crew chief in Truex's NASCAR career. He's worked with Kevin "Bono" Manion in all four of his Cup seasons.

Truex is leaving Earnhardt Ganassi Racing to drive the No. 56 Toyota for MWR next season.

I'm SUPER happy that Kasey made the chase this year.

I still think Jimmie is going to win the championship again..he always seems to have a great end to the season. I would love to see Mark Martin win it all though. He deserves it.

If Jeff can't win it, I hope Mark does.... Of course a championship for Kasey Kahne is a championship for Richard Petyy & who could argue with that?

Well Mark is gonna be strong(like today) but tracks like Talladega will be the death of his chance to win I think. Montoya was Strong today but I don't see him keeping that up for the next 9 races. You can pretty much write off Kahne, Biffle, Newman and maybe Edwards because they just aren't running well enough right now. I think it's gonna be between Johnson, Gordon, Hamlin and Stewart.

Just like last year the names in green are well in the chase.

The names in yellow are on the verge of being out.

The names that will be in red are out.

#18 car too low in post race inspection: #18-Kyle Busch, who missed making the Chase by just eight points, finished 5th in the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
