I feel sorry for anyone that works with Kyle. All he does is makes smartass remarks to the team the entire time the car isn't perfect.

A.J. Allmendinger was arrested early Thursday morning on a charge of drunken driving.

Mooresville police said Allmendinger failed a field sobriety test after he was pulled over.


AllmendingerAllmendinger, who drives the No. 44 for Richard Petty Motorsports, said in a statement he had drinks with dinner and made a mistake in driving afterward.

"I honestly felt fine, but I obviously should have erred more on the side of caution, particularly given what I do for a living," Allmendinger said. "It was a bad judgment call and I apologize for that."

RPM officials had no immediate comment.

Allmendinger is a major factor in RPM's long-range plans, and team officials told The Associated Press that Allmendinger was going to be moved into Petty's famed No. 43 next season. Best Buy is expected to sponsor the car.

It's not clear how his arrest may affect that relationship. Petty routinely shunned alcohol sponsorship, and refused to allow his teams to participate in NASCAR's second-tier series when it was sponsored by Busch.

"If anything good can come of this, then hopefully I can be an example of being more aware of drinking responsibly and if even if you feel fine, take a cab, call a friend," Allmendinger said. "Just don't risk it. I will do my best to make it right and use this to learn myself and hopefully educate others.

Well Jamie Mac got another win. That race was a joke

Tim I think you need to have your Kyle Busch curse rub off on Jimmie Johnson. The guy doesn't even race until the last 15 laps and he ends up 6th...what a joke. He has the championship in the bag now.

Yeah the title battle is over. Even if Mark Martin wins all three of the final races and leads the most laps as long as jj gets a 10th place or better finish he will still win the championship.

I don't know about you but that had to be THE BEST RACE EVER. Mark Martin gained alot of points on Jimmie...I'm pulling him over the next two weeks. I hope he can do it!!

JJ still has a 73 point lead so that means that Mark Martin has to gain 37 points on JJ the next two races to beat him. Jeff Gordon needs to knock off 57, Kurt bush 86 and Tony Stewart 90.

They are the only drivers that even have a shot a JJ.

Kyle Busch will win The Nationwide Title with a 15th place finish at Phoenix and if Ron Hornaday gets a 22nd place or better finish the last two races the battle for the Camping World Truck Title is over.
