My last post was not in repsonse to yours but to answer your question...

I think it is because SOOO many folks put Liz up on a pedestal...as they've done other character like Liz, *ie Laura, Audrey, even Jessie*...all three of these other ladies had their "tarnished" sides to them and when they did things that was not how folks deemed they should act...they got bashed for it.

I so agree with you.. sam came on and she was bad girl from the start and Liz well she always a good girl and sometimes it's hard to see her as well and Liar and a cheeter and well Might have killed Sam.... it was really hard for me to see such sweet Liz as a Bad Girl or something like that....

On of the things I like about GH is that the characters aren't black and white, good or bad. Most of the them go through spells of leaning one way or the other, then go swing back the other way for a bit. They are so human. I can feel sorry for, love, or be pissed off at just about everyone of them, depending on their current state (gee, kind of like one's spouse....)

Oh but you've forgotten *unless you missed it*...Liz was not originally portrayed as the "good girl"...her sister Sarah was...and Liz was the rebel sister...it was not till after she was unfortunately raped in the park that we saw a change in her.

Woooowww, that was a different side of Liz! (Guess that was a different actor as Lucky?) Was she just trying to help Lucky find Luke and was acting tougher than she really was?

BUT...

Liz was a real bad@$$ when she first came to town...so her acting here wasn't that much of a stretch form who she really was when she first came to PC as a 15 year old, ciggy smoking, leather wearing...bad@$$ chick.

i remember when she came on as the "bad" sister. the rape - so sad. she & j.j. had some amazing scenes. what excellent actors!

i've been a fan of her's all along. i think she is just so normal & totally human - that's what i love about her.

I love Elizabeth. I think part of it stems from the fact that I feel like we grew up together. She came on as this kinda edgy looking for attention brat...and the things that happened to her changed her so much. First it was the rape, falling in love with Lucky, losing him, her relationship with Jason, Lucky coming back changed, Sarah, Ric, Cameron...all these things formed her into a different person...much as real life does to people. I think that helps me understand everything she has done, even if I don't agree with it.
